« on: August 14, 2019, 12:25:11 pm »
Thought some of you might get a kick out of this picture.

I was taking a shot of the tiller on this bow when... BOOOOOOOM! The look on my face says it all.  ;D

I've made that face.  Now the PTSD every time you draw one back for a month afterwards.

Months? More like years Bobert! I short draw and snap shoot every self bow I touch. I grab a glasser and yank it right back to a solid anchor. I'm screwed for life, unless maybe hypnotism could help.

Thats one of the reasons I started adding more mass to my bows, I don't flinch or cringe when I draw them back anymore. Early on I was breaking at least 1 out of 5.

It is good your OK. A week ago I blew  58 inch Hickory Sudbury style bow. I gave it a belly heat treat to get some set out of it.It tillered Ok so I put it up to rehydrate.A week later I took it of the wall, and strung it, and pulled to full draw, and bang. Sounded like a 30/o6 went off in the house. Top limb went ,but I was not hurt. Three years ago I had a wild choke cherry bow blow the top limb at full draw. It broke my glasses in to two pieces ,and bruised my eye.Jawge say,s you aint making them if you aint breaking them, but it,s not  much fun when it happens . All's well that ends well
