got more work done on my knife, working on the handle now.
also got my knife from ssgtchad on thursday and today i put it through its paces carving a crude atlatl from a broken mulberry limb.
once all was said and done it only needed a quick touch on a fine stone to take hair off my arm again.

I gathered some raw material supplies and tinkered with a piece of antler for a handle today.

Here is my offering, hope Ed likes it. It's from a file hammered out the bevels and rough shape, mystery wood scales from a burl clock and a regular belt sheath I made , finish is bees wax and mineral oil

Looks Great. That burl wood, whatever it is, has some nice figure.

I glued a blade in a handle and inset a small arrowhead made of citronell into the end of the handle.
Still got to smooth out the glue lines around the arrowhead and wrap the haft with sinew, then make some sort of holder and maybe a sheath of some sort.

Stone blades are just so beautiful and you make them so well, 1442. The antler handle is going to make that into one fabulous knife.
