How to deal with reflexed billets?

I have a pair of scotch broom billets that have pulled into long reflexed curves as they seasoned. I have no real idea how to deal with them, I could deflex them at the handle if i went with a take down, or deflex at the splice and go for a r/d bow i guess, but would it be more sensible to straighten them or will the reflex fall out during tillering?

It's a bit of a guessing game. When the reflex has happened as it seasoned you don't really know how much will pull out. I've found that that around half will come out but that's a wild estimate from Douglas Maple and Yew. Broom is anyone's guess. Take a guess, splice in the appropriate amount of deflex and hope. You can always steam in/out more/less as you tiller.
That wasn't a lot of help, was it?

4 inches of reflex is more than i have dealt with so far but if half might pull out I will join them straight and see what happens

I'll have to make some adjustments for string alignment anyway so if the reflex doesn't pull out I suppose i can adjust it at the same time

seems like your options are open,, just go with what you got,, and adjust later if you need,, sounds like a nice project
