Forward Handle R/D 62"
« on: November 26, 2018, 03:32:00 pm »
I finally got a good day to get some pictures of the bow I asked for tiller help on.  I took about 100 pictures and I still don't think they are that good.  I really admire you guys who take good photos.

Here's the specs:
62" NTN, 52#'s @ 28", Bamboo/Maple/Osage Lamination
Forward Handle- Live Oak (from a branch of the tree the bow is resting on in the pics)
Belly Handle- thin strips of Live Oak, purple heart, cocobolo
8 coats of Tru Oil Rubbed with Pumice mixture Gordon style
Greenish color wood dye on the bamboo

It's real smooth and fun to shoot.  I'll take her hunting with me until I finish something more primitive.  I need to get some arrows tuned and make a new string for it.  Initial test through the chrono were 175 fps @ 10 gpp.  I think I can get a little more out of her.

It's a beaut! Like the straight limb at brace. You'll have to learn to walk like an Egyptian. ;)

Dead nuts tiller Ben.You hit a home run with this one.I'm sure it's smooth shooter!!!I like it.Your finish work is very nice too.Very nice glue lines. What about pics of the tips?Glad you guys are finding solutions to your longish draw.Gotta agree with you sometimes the pictures won't do the bow justice. Are you drawing it to 28" or 26"?

Thanks, I really appreciate it guys.

Ed, I may be short drawing some, the wife was hurrying me  ;D .  The tape on the arrow is 28" from the nock.  It's a 32" arrow I believe.

Very nice Ben. That's a shooter for sure. Taking pictures of bows does seem hard to do justice to them. I think arrows are even harder. You and your wife did fine.
