60" 51# osage bow
« on: November 17, 2018, 06:28:28 pm »
Hello everyone. This is a snakey osage flip tip bow. It is 60" long and is 51#@26". I dyed the back with 3 coats of black leather dye. I used one rattle snake skin that was gifted to me by the late Denny Mears. Since i only had one from him i made it work by cutting the skin in half and using the pieces centered in the middle of the limbs. I cut the skins into designs on either side and hand painted lines at the transitions that matched the handle area to make everything pop. I used buffalo horn for the tip overlays. I flipped the tips with direct heat. The whole finished bow is 20oz and shoots very fast. Thank you for checking it out.

Nice bow NTV. You've been busy putting out some sweet bows. I like the one snake skin look. I've used it myself several times.
