Birch backed cherry bow, FD pic added
« on: November 10, 2018, 11:32:17 pm »
Here's a bow I just finished, cherry with a birch backer, the siyahs are two pieces of poplar with a 1/4" solid ply core, just epoxied on no splice, no wrap. Shoots nice and quick and my buddy Clint wanted to make me a string for it, came out very nice. It's around 45-47# @ 28"

The bow tattoos is Loki's snakes, Loki is known as a trickster and being as cherry can be tricky I thought it was appropriate. No f/d right now the rh here is in the low teens and I don't want to take a chance with cherry and super low humidity 😁

Very nice Bubby. Hope you get that humidity up a bit. It'd help with battling those wildfires to.

Real nice!  What epoxy did you use?  Like the Loki's snakes, we learn a lot of lore on this sight!  Stay safe!

Nice one Bub, good to see a bow from you again! Is the poplar bent or carved, That's a thing  - just glued on ...

Never would have thought you could do a siyah glue up like that without wraps of splices or both. Really like the artwork too!
