Sinew Backed Yew (with sapwood)

This one has been in the works for a while. The bow is a sinew backed yew bow with hog casing over the top of the sinew. It is 57.5” ntn and 55lbs@28”. I used dry heat to for the reflex and flipped tips. The nocks are ebony stained deer antler. A knot in the top limb caused some difficulties during the tiller, but I got it to a point where I am comfortable. I did leave all the sapwood on (1/8”) and did not run into any trouble with it warping the bow at all. This is my first time using sinew to back a bow. I used TB3 for the sinew and the hog casings. I added the casings (left over from making breakfast sausage) 4 months after the sinew had dried, and used a paint roller to clear out all the bubbles and air pockets. I am not sure if the casings added any draw weight to the bow, but they provided a surface that I could stain, and should provide a little protection to the sinew backing. I plan on using it for hunting late archery, which is why it is so dark. I wanted something that will blend into the dark PNW forest we have here in WA.

I forgot to mention that a lot of credit for this build goes to Gordan. I relied on his "sinew backed yew build-along" for a lot of questions that came up.
