Thanks for the comments. Right now I'm not planning on hafting it. If I did, I would use a fairly short wooden handle at about a 45 degree angle, sinew and pitch. Rick B

From my research on corner tang knives FWIW.
A leather or cordage wrist strap is used. This would allow the hand
to be free but give easy access to the blade as opposed to laying
the knife down.

Makes sense to me as the tang wouldn't
provide much support for hafting.

Zuma, I've always thought that they were tethered but have also seen archaeological suggestions like in the photo below. Rick B

Just tie off around the tang. There would be no leverage or force against it.
