A hunk of rare raw brown jasper.  ???
I think it's the first time I took photos of a successful reduction. O:)

Very nice Zuma. I find small butterscotch colored stone I believe is jasper. I haven't been able to successfully make one into a proper point yet. I'd sure like to though.

Thanks folks. Pretty much a secret but I can confide--- the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
There is a ancient fault that must have created the proper conditions. Very small area.

Not familiar with the North Fork of the Shenendoah, except that is is about 2,000 miles east of here, give or take a couple hundred!  Guess I won't be able to encroach on the fault any time soon!  Anyway, I still have to learn to chip obsidian!! :KN :KN :-K
