Idea for stave vise.

Super simple idea and I think it would work great for working bows. I deal with these cylinders daily at work and can’t believe I hadn’t ever thought of usin one like this. Would allow hands and feet free clamping without constantly cranking a vise open and shut.

Pretty neat!  Just have to find space for it, and the compressor, the little cylinder, and hose! And the time to build it!  It does look solid!

Grrr. (engage grumpy mode ;)  ) It's overthink! Yeah, lets run a noisy compressor and use a load of fancy pneumatics to do what can be done with your foot and some leverage (probably more reliably too  :) )
Probably more suited to holding compounds (spits on floor)
(grumpy mode off)

Ok it would be cool.. just a little  >:(

That's kinda what I was thinking to Del. It also seems to not have much range. I suppose it could be modified but not sure I'm sold on this one.

Ha! My compressor is outside my shop and I have air chucks all over. I reckon I shouldn’t use a chainsaw, bandsaw, or anything else to make it easier lol.
The amount of throw depends on length of cylinder.

It's cool and everything but foot pressure is already working great for me and it's already paid for
