...... Did you wet the bow with salted water before you put in the fume bag? It looks like it makes the contrast between the early and late wood higher, really nice! The belly almost looks like the laburnum I am finishing up at the moment!

Yes, Leon I did like you said - but several times. The colors remind me on a wood I've seen years ago, it was a tropical wood called tigerwood.

Ed, I've found it makes not much difference with levers 5, 4, or 3" long with bows such long as this.
It is another thing when it comes to bows shorter than let's say 50"
