Cactus Hog

This is number three and most likely the very first I saw. I was unprepared that day.Not today
He came by the side glass door, I got the Luger and waited patiently for him to return from the
back deck. I couldn't see him, so after a while I peeked out the side door. I thought he would be
chowing on my maters, garlic or peppers .Nope he was all in with the Prickly Pears munchin the buds. -C-

Now that's a new one on me. I wonder what made him try the prickly pear buds? Well looks like he got the he point.

LOL, Thanks for the sharp comments folks.
Only thing I can figure is that the hog was after the fruit like cactus buds/flowers. This year we lost most fruit do to frost. Some of the buds must have fallen off the deck and appealed to the critter. They climb trees for the peaches. I found zero on the net about cactus eating groundhogs. The cardinals were even eating my maters.

Hmmm!  Cactus stuffed groundhog, with sweet potatoes, and corn on the cob?  Interesting critters!

We winter in the S.W. and a lot of different animals eat cactus. Deer, hogs, rabbits and cows to name a few.  Nice shot Don.

You going to ridge this year? Just spoke with Mike Cook and he is heading down with a couple others.  Wife and I are heading down Weds and renting a motel. She has never been there and is excited to go.

Dancer I know that would be tasty. Had I the wearwithall  (is that a word?) in my condition I would make dinner and save the hides for Eddie.

Hope your saw bones is good at what he does!  The medic's creed is "a chance to cut is a chance to cure"!  Follow orders, do your exercises, and remember, p.t. Really means pain and torture >:D >:D, not physical therapy!  Have a speedy recovery!

Thanks Dancer, I really am a big wossy but after all the agony of the last
ten weeks I think the cutting will be cake. Errr I hope so. Not like I have
 any choice if I want to be bipedal again. Thank God the surgery has improved
so much lately.

You blew out a knee or a hip?  Either will slow you down a lot, but improve your movement when fixed!
