Nothing yet but with the cooler weather coming in I'll be out in the shop more.

This might be a raw materials year for me. Got some bamboo for backing cut and drying in the yard. Also thinking about some strips of cedar for a belly... just had some fall from the hurricane. I got 5 trees total, maybe getting a 6th.

Sleek, boo is a grass and will quickly deteriorate if left in the yard. It should be stored in the dry so fungi doesn't attack it.

Well, I'm done with the knife swap, and waiting on the go ahead to ship my bow for the bow trade. I should be in the shop in the next couple weeks working on christmas trade stuff. Not sure what I'm making just yet, but I'll keep you all posted.

That's a great looking bag Pat!

Anybody else working on christmas stuff yet?

Still brainstorming, gathering, and procrastinating!  Hope to have it all together 1st week of November., may be mostly materials, though!  Deer season will get in the way this week and next.

I’m doing the same. I’m getting caught up on projects and ready to start putting something together. Just not quite sure what yet. I’m debating on a fully finished bow, a tillered but unfinished bow, a stave or two, making a something, or a bunch of materials. There’s still a little time, but not a lot.

Im just checking in. Looks like its gonna be bamboo backing strips and cedar strips for a composit. The only problem is the cedar strips wont be cured. Is that gonna be a big issue for folks?

Good to know. So, im gonna get these trees milled into slats soon. Whats the best thickness of cedar to consider for a belly lam with a boo back? 1/4 inch?

Trying to get our blankety-blank rifles zeroed in.  Still trying to hunt deer through tomorrow.  At least we saw some, Jacie missed.  Did get some ideas in an art gallery for some neat rustic coasters and Jacie gave me an idea for a paper towel rack, suitable a workshop or man cave.  Since I have a supply of erotic(er, exotic) wood on hand, I think I will give them a try?

That sounds like it should work out well hawkdancer. I’ve gathered up a few things with some more to go, It’s just what. I’m sitting at a cattail leaf quiver, a bundle of yucca fibers, and a handful of multiflora rose for shafts. I’m gonna work on gathering up some more before time hits.

Who all sits around a camp fire & cooks hotdogs & marshmallows family & friends? Thinking about making some stuff in the forge again.
