New addition to our family
« on: July 18, 2018, 11:33:30 am »
This is Rosie. We got her yesterday from the Humane Society in Greenville, SC. She is 3 months old and they say she is a retriever/ terrier mix. I think more like a terrier/retriever mix.  (A)  Very smart, feisty as hell and fitting right in with Maggie and the rest of us. Here are a few pics...
the introduction.

I'm a firm believer in rawhide chewys. We've gone through a ton of them over the years with our dogs as they teethed. We've been on a few walks already, our regular routes to show her our "territory" ,getting ready to go on another. We have to get her in shape for our mountain trails. She protests some but soon she'll own them. Rosie will make a good partner for Maggie and help keep the bears and coyotes away. She'll probably even threaten a squirrels and chipmunks.  :OK

She's a real pistol. The terrier is already coming out in her. I hope she doesn't turn out a terrier with a labs body.  :o   ;D
Rosie has already made herself at home.

Thanks guys. Rosie is a real treat for us. She and Maggie get along great and I have the feeling that when she gets a little older the two of them are going to terrorize the chipmunks, squirrels, bears and coyotes. Maggie has been doing a good job until now but those critters had better take heed.  :OK

LOL, congratulations on the "new construction" and adding four feet to the house!
