Farmers' market wooden sign
« on: July 02, 2018, 08:38:33 am »
After observing the degree of display at the tables here at the local farmers market that Robin likes to attend I got this sign made up for 1 of her tables.Others have plastic banners made from their computers for their display.
This one is from a free knotty piece of red cedar I resawed off my band saw.Letters are burned in by Robin with a wood burner.I think it's the best sign there.I'm sure it's the cheapest made also.

Quite a gathering in this town every thursday evening.A band and food vendors present also.

That's sort of a "farm to table" sign. Just right for a local farmers market. We have one here also that happens on Saturday morning and you'd better get there early.

cheap is a question of perspective

Very nice sign. Post us a pick with it loaded up at the market!  (-P

Good lookin' sign, Mr Ed.
Yeah, take pic with it loaded up!

See ya soon.

I hope she doesn't point to you when people ask about her cooking, ya skinny ol' thing!   ;D

Ditto what Knoll said.  Show us some pics of her stand all set up.  Man, I love strolling through a Farmer's Market making up a dinner menu as I go!

Free is good!  Maybe you should add a few things to the table!  Hope to have my sign ready for MOJAM!  Not sure I will have the wood burning part done, though - but at least the lettering blacked in!  At some of our fm' you can even get live music, but ye have to pay the piper to call the tune!  Lots of good stuff and yummy!

It was stated by the organizers who put on the farmers market also that a sign is required. The band is free to listen to while shopping payed for by local business's.There's more musicians out there than one figures. It's mostly all her thing with the farmers' market.I help her set up occasionally. She does'nt want much help really. We hope to do a bit more canning this fall also.We seem to be eating a bit more healthy that's for sure.A lot cheaper to boot I know too.
If I could get her to want to shoot a bow would be the frosting on the cake.I've got bows that'll suit her that's for sure.Between taking care of her animals[a pony,goat,2 pot bellied pigs, dozen chickens,2 dozen cats,6 dogs,2 parrots,4 finches,a russian tortoise, and 2 small box turtles] and a garden her summers stay pretty busy.I pitch in where I'm needed.

Looks ten times better than any computer printed sign.   Robin did a real nice job on the lettering too.

That's what I thought.Others at the market have asked questions to Robin about it.We made 2 signs really though.Another to hang above the doorway of the house too.
