Working on the details this morning, making the lines deeper and crisp and reducing around the relief to make the design stand out.

Well like it or not, here is the cheek piece carving done except for final sanding and cleaning up. Only took about 20 hours.

Blued the barrel today and rubbed it back to a nice dark gray. Im going to rub it back a bit more.  Also finished carving the stock today and raised the grain on it. All I have left to do on it is more sanding and carve the patch box lid.

I love grayed barrels, I have done two, unfortunately the gray is very easy to wear off and has to be redone when you get a light spot.
