The string is sinew. I just wanted to try a natural material string. I might switch it out with a dacron for hunting. And how would you darken it? If I would keep the natural feel I would want to use a natural type stain

It will darken by itself, especially if exposed to sunlight. I've heard many say they hunt with bright new yellow wood and have no problems. I tend to agree with them. White seems a bit more of a problem to me. Movement is the huge problem. It's also one of the reasons this type of hunting is so challenging. Getting close enough is probably the easy part. Getting a good shot off undetected can be very challenging and rewarding.

Leave the bow in the sun one day and in a few weeks it’ll be mocha brown. It will turn either way but one day of full sunshine and it turns quick.

              Don't think he took it that way, but you are correct...You don't want sinew or rawhide to get wet! It will come apart or stretch severely if not sealed correctly...I use a pitch, wax and a fat mixture...In a down pour or a long rain I will simply unstring...Wet rawhide is very weak, I learned the hard way...

That's an awesome stick - good job!  I have messed around with sinew cordage enough to know that making a string is a pretty significant amount of work.  Good luck with hunting!
