For some reason I just really like shoot shafts. I might be weird and they are certainly much more time consuming, but I just like them anyway.
I really like river cane. It straightens very nice and stays straight. Seems to spine about right for me to. I like Red Osier and have a very abundant local supply. It's a bit more work to straighten and doesn't always stay straight for me, but like the weight, durability and taper. I also like the way the white shaft looks with my Bjrogg markings.lol. I have some hill cane from Pat that looks very promising and I've heard lots of good things about. I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet. I also have some Viburnum that I harvested last year and another ornamental that seems very similar to viburnum to try yet. Maybe I'll get some time again and get in the arrow building mode again. Like to try that new stuff.
