Looks a very steep angle on that draw knife... I like 'em shallow.

Del, I don't know what angle they grind those Flexcuts at, but they're not like most drawknives. The blades are thin enough to be flexible. Just saying, that angle might not be as steep as it looks.

Has that draw knife teeth on it or is that an illusion? Btw, this is a good place to ask, but I also use draw knife as a scraper when I hold it perpendicular to the wood. Sometimes it chatters and that leaves marks on belly. Anyone know why is that so or how to counter that?

I like to think of it as a pothole in the road. When you hit it over and over with the same approach and vehicle the pothole gets bigger. Goes to a file and repave the road then try to make steady even strokes and blend them into the limb every few strokes with a full limb pull. Make sense?
P.s. holding the knife slightly less than ninety  seems to make a smoother pull

It's not so steep, about the same as the old one I've been borrowing. It is flexible, and not a ding or scratch on it yet. It's quite a good draw knife. No teeth, just an illusion I guess

Flexcut makes awesome carving tool so I'm guessing it would be good. Pricey too, I'll bet.

I have tried this today as I am tillering black locust flatbow and it works. No chatter at all but there are less shavings. Never mind I will have less work to do regarding cleaning everything from nicks and marks.
