Sassafras for arrow shats?
« on: April 20, 2018, 07:35:59 am »
Hey guys, I cut a sassafras a couple weeks ago anyone ever use that for arrow shafts? I thought it was a young hickory, it had to go regardless, don't want to waste it.

One step stronger than balsa. I have used sassafras for other things and didn't think it would be spiny enough for arrows, and it is brittle. It is a light wood, so maybe a fat arrow would work...
