You could cut a space under the blade and fill it with lead to give you a little extra oomph.

Im making a smaller one using a hand Planer blade. With some heavier wood; ocean spray and and maybe Oregon white oak. If that one doesn’t turn out.

Let me know how it turns out when you’re done.

  I also have a blade from one of those sharp floor scrapers.  I wonder if the steel is good enough.
