looking for a few stone points (blems ok)
« on: March 27, 2018, 11:18:27 am »
Thanks for looking!

My turkey hunting friends give me their turkey wings and I like to thank them by making an arrow for them using the feathers from the bird they harvested.  I'm looking for 3 or more stone points that I can use for the "gift" arrows I make.  These arrows are made to hang on the wall so the points do not need to be hunting-quality.  I do ask, however, that the base be thin enough that I can easily halve it on to some of my narrower dogwood shafts.  Also, not being picky, but would prefer at least one of the points made from chert (instead of obsidian).  In terms of size, maybe just over an inch or so...not 2 inches, and not micro bird points.

For trade, off the top of my head, I have a bazillion secondary un-grinded turkey feathers, goose feathers, professionally garment-tanned wild mink and muskrat pelts (fox and coyote too if you want to work out a deal for some hunting quality points, etc), raccoon baculums, dogbane (for making cordage), cleaned and whitened fox and fisher skulls, I may have some 5/16 POC arrow shafts (need to check), traditionally made NY maple syrup from last week, deer toe bones (cleaned and whitened), and some very clean deer raw hide I just finished...please let me know if you are interested in the above and I can send you some photos.  I could probably come up with a few other trade items...

Thanks for looking!
