a little off topic from handles, but will you be using the tops or bottoms of the branches? I have some branches waiting for me on my workbench.

I've done something KIND of like it, but under a pretty stout backing. Back on stickbow.come a guy was splicing in long tips of color contrasting wood about 2/3 of the way out on the limb, and it was very handsome work. I did it more like that, and mine were ok.
