Knocked a spall off from a nodule an ended up with this one, broke off one of the ears so had to alter point style alittle. You can see white spot on point and where it came from in the nodule, Thanks for lookin. Bob :KN

Looks mighty nice!  I like it!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I agree with Parnell about the nice style of it. When I was a new knapper, I was a lot more creative, and I made one from  almost everything that could give me some kind of point. Now I have gotten into a rut of making a more limited number of types, so my styles can get a little boring.

Very nice Outback. Did you split it using bipolar method? I think that's what they call it. Very nice however you did it.

That's one thing I really enjoyed about the Point Of The Month. It was very challenging to try to make a certain type of point that someone else posted. I'm afraid I don't know the different point types like I should. Probably should get some books on the subject. I'm usually not much for trying to replicate bows or arrows or really anything. I'm influenced by them but not really all that interested in replicating. However the POM did push me to make myself a better knapper

BJ, I had a spot where the cortex was rubbed off and had a slight angle. I used about a baseball sized hammerstone and gave it a good lick. I have used bi polar sometimes to open up the hard round nodules, Watched James Parker give a demo on bipolar reduction, as usual he made it look so simple. Some of the hornstone type nodules can be real tuff to get into. I believe the really thick cortex absorb your blows like a sponge.
The point of the month was a big influence on my knapping, I couldn't hardly wait for the new style to come out every month, I truly tried hard to help keep it going  by always entering something and participating, I learned so much in my earlier yrs from the knappers  and their style of replicating points. I really miss POM. Traveling to lots of knapping has also helped in learning different point styles and methods.  Bob :KN
