Yes higher brace needed I should have mentioned to you.Normally my bows are braced giving measurements to back of handle and they can range from 6.75" to 7".Inside handle on belly it usually is from 5.25" to 5.75".That all depends on thickness of handle as you can see.Myself I feel very little or 0 hand shock from my bows.
Shooting as you were did'nt you see any affect on the arrow flight?I mean it paradoxing before getting off the string to kick funny leaving the string.

Handle is 1,3" thick. This makes 7" to the back.
I jus shot a few dozen arrows on the wrong side (string is on the left side of handle) as i am left handed. Just set the average string height and average nock set position (2/5")
