Howdy fellas, still mulling the birch and letting the sinew do its thing so I started this linen backed Osage. I call it a timber bow instead of a stave bow or board bow because it came from a sweet barn timber my dad found in IN.
So far she’s 63” NTN, 1 5/8” wide, tiger wood handle overlay, Wisconsin whitetail tip overlays with a linen back. It’s a true quartersawn piece and i think it’s gonna be a dandy. I love this one so it’s probably the one that goes to my victim.
Right now it’s 51# @ 28” . I have not shot it yet but tillering is nearly done. I gonna do an experiment with heat treating. I know the draw weight so I’ll put a light toast on it and see how much the weight increases.
Pics are right after it came off the tree. She’ arrow straight after a few mins so i think the heat treat will be good for it.
