The trees have popped there buds a week ago. All kinds of migratory birds.
Eagles and Cranes on nests. Sea temp 68 degrees. Mosquitoes and no-seeems.
Peeper serenade two weeks ago.

There's 2 seasons in the high country, winter and August, and we aren't real sure about August most years!

Bob, I hope I don't kick my own arse but most likely I will
be where it's below freezing daily and 10" plus on the ground.
Then hunt northward with the geese in a week or so.

Dancer, that's what I always said about Yellowstone.
Thank god, mother nature gives us these amazing environments.

Don, it's 12 deg this morning and most of the geese and ducks are in the rivers , lakes and ponds still froze up. Been getting up to the thirty each day. supposed to be 50 by the weekend so spring is a comin I hope. Total snow for the season so far is 187" and they are hoping to get to 200 by the first day of spring. Hope you don't get to much wind while chasing your geese and have a good hunt, Bob

Zuma, hope you have heat in the blind, coffee in the thermos, heap plenty shotgun shells, and more snow geese down than you can carry! And a sore shoulder from shooting so much

. If you get too many, send a bunch my way! Wings included, lol! We don't have many out here yet and no snow to slow them down this year

. Heck, I'd even drive back to Iowa to pick them up!

Have a great hunt! I understand there are some mighty fine hams produced in Iowa, if you can find them. Sort of a secret!

Spring must be here, I just seen a pair of bluebirds setting in the sun, 26 deg. but sunny and about 10" of snow cover, sure hope they can find something to eat. Maybe stoneflys starting to hatch. Bob

When I left last Saturday for Brazil again my Osage trees were sprouting ne leaves and the lemon had blossoms. Guess spring is finally in Florida. It's Fall down here and 90 dgs. I'll be ready to get back to Florida. It's still Turkey season.

Mike, you sure you're not in the Rockies, or Minnesota!? We got near 70 today and there is maybe snow Tuesday! Robins showed up in Feb - went back south I think

. Got an eaglet due to hatch over east of here 20 miles or so, probably some owlets around as well. Most other birds aren't here yet. Glad you had good weather for the knap-in, though!
