While this is officially a "cold camp", due to fire restrictions in the Black Hills National Forest, propane heaters are allowed and I will be cooking hot meals twice a day on a gas stove. Camp is located in the Black Hills National Forest, but not in an established commercial or public campground, consequently will not be able to offer amenities such as a vault toilet or running water. Motels are located about 15 minutes away and may still be at "off season" rates.
Black Hills Spring Turkey tags allow you access to 1.28 million public acres of good to excellent habitat. Those confidant in their calling skills may opt to self guide, those wishing for local experienced assistance can generally buddy up with another hunter or two.
Camp loafers with no interest in hunting still welcome. However, pot shirkers not willing to do a turn or two at dishes can expect public and/or private humiliation and hazing.
This camp is an "at will" event, and is not an organized event with insurance. Organizers do not charge for any service, any monies exchanged are for "fair shares" of the costs, and not on a profit basis.
