New Guy
« on: April 10, 2008, 11:58:36 pm »
Hello, My name is John Holman and I live in Luther, Oklahoma. I am fairly new to primitive archery but have been hunting with longbows and recurves for 20 or so years now. I started making osage self bows 10 years ago and after the 2nd failure decided I didn't want to do it anymore. I finally got a stave out about a month ago that I had cut 10 years ago and turned out a real nice longbow (IMHO). I will be posting pics of it later. I had alot of help with the tillering at OJAM a couple weeks ago. I met a lot of folks that really know their stuff there. I want to thank Tommy Leach for the horn for my nocks and all the help he and Mike gave me. I look forward to learning from you guys and thanks for allowing me to be a member.
Also want to include that my son is starting his first Osage self bow and will be doing all of it himself. He is 9 and loves to shoot his bows.

Welcome John, look forward to seeing your work. :)

I too must admit to the world at long last that I've had to check in to Pappy's Asylum for Bowyering Fanatic's! :(
I can't understand it though, the therapy seems to have an adverse effect on me...I even dream bowmakin' now! ??? ;D
