My latest sinew backed shortbow with rawhide and art

Here is one that ive been working on off and on since 2016.  I worked it to a ring and sinew and rawhide backed it.  45.5" OAL. It draws 58# @ 23" and is pretty quick shooting.  In fact i plan to hunt with it one day!  It has a semi rigid handle that bends a bit.  I just finished the grip with leather tab for the arrow rest.  The tips are buffalo horn.  I drew some inspiration for the artwork from the Modoc examples i have seen.  I sure have a thing for these shortbows!

You really nailed the shape and bend of Great basin and California historical bows.

Thanks so much for the kind words guys.  Yall are my inspiration for improving as a bowyer.  Here is a pic of the bow on the wall unbraced...just after shooting it.

Thats a gorgeous bow bud. great job. Taking the extra time on her really paid off with a bow that has it all.
