Haha yes I sure do live in southern Utah. Hurricane. Only been here about a year though. I have wanted to get a juniper but every where I look it seems to be private or protected. I am paranoid about getting into trouble cutting the wrong tree, or giving primitive archers a bad name with an ignorant blunder.

How was the grain orientation on the board any run off? Knots?   Pics always help but I wouldn't trash it I keep my boo-boos and hold them study the flaw or mistake. But yeah sounds done for.

So I tried to get some pics but my file size was way too big! I will figure out how to shrink them down. The grain isnt bad actually, at least not in the belly. I am going to sand off the backing and try either burlap or rawhide.

He ia talking about the plastic mesh sheetrock tape not fibreglass. If it was me i would pull it off sand the glue down , then if it needs a backing glue on some linen or silk, it will work better than what sam harper used in that how to and look a ton better
