Horse bow and arrow set
« on: October 24, 2017, 06:21:14 pm »
I have been wanting to put a kit like this together for a long time. My wife was very helpful in making the bow case. She is very tollerant of my projects and I owe her a lot. Now if I can just get her to start making bows with me :D

Anyways, this is a 43 pound horse bow I have posted previously,  with leapordwood arrows made by warpath. They fly great from this bow. The bow case is faux leather from hobby lobby, with 1x2 framing, felt, and underlayment ply. I had to buy a purse on clearance to rob it of its handle strap to make the handle and the snap straps. It was ugly mustard color,  so I mixed up some acrilic paint to match the case and pained it. It worked well, and doesnt scratch or flake off at all.

Thanks guys. I am proud of how it turned out. Next set I have planned will be even better. I want to make an all wood case, with burl laminations on it done in a nautical star pattern.

Looking pretty danged FANCY SCHMANCY Mr. Sleek!  I'm assuming you didn't use the K-Bar to cut the miters in your 1X2 framing.  Nice look...  - OneBow

Kevin you and your wife did an outstanding job on the bow and case. The whole set is a one of a kind show piece . I will cherish this set . And you have something even better in mind . I certainly can't wait to see it.  You and your wife are very talented.
