I’ve been looking into any info on the color changes on the artifact. Anyone have knowledge if red Ocher was used ?

If it was red, I'd imagine it was red ocher. Red ocher is pretty powerful.

I think it's just old and oxidized. A Hickory Ax handle at an antique store looks the same.

I viewed it at the Peabody last spring. I saw no signs of pigment. It was dark though...just age and use I'd figure.

I love the Sudbury bow design and I have made one from HHB myself without first knowing what it is I was making. What are the dimensions of the bow? Is that all available?
