scotch tape
« on: October 14, 2017, 01:42:12 pm »
So, I use cellotape for clamping small and awkward parts while gluing.  The secret is to twist the tape into a rope at which point it becomes almost impossible to snap and is also a little elastic so you can put in a lot of pressure. I haven't used it on larger glue-ups, yet, anyone else got any experience with this technique?

Maybe use double sided tape for a little stickiness on little things like overlays and such?

I use rubber bands for small awkward parts like tip overlays, leather handle risers and added shelves.

On tip overlays i use ca glue and just press with my fingers for 10 secs
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.

Finger clamping is not so easy with 5 minute epoxy, or a 24 hour set slow glue  ;)

Tip overlays, I use those little spring clamps with the rubber ends and ca glue, same for arrow rests. Anything bigger than that, I've got those dewalt clamps.
