I got this burl from Joe earlier this summer and he told me it came from the coast of Washington many years ago.



I started work on this project back in Aug and finally have it about finished. The top was planed flat then sanded and sealed a number of times.



Epoxy was used to fill the voids and a stone point was hidden within the depths. Obsidian flakes were laid over top of it and they are visible from the top.




The base is made from walnut and the pins are made from bocote and curly maple. The base was fashioned in a way that makes it easy to disassemble.




Once the epoxy in the voids was cured. The entire top was sanded to 220 and then recoated with epoxy to give it a durable and beautiful finish.

Great Craftsmanship. My old neighbor in AZ did work similar to yours with natural / live edge wood. God sure makes some cool stuff. John
