What Bow string

Hello All ,
can anyone give me the right advice as to what the best bow string would be and what number of string strands to use  for an Hungarian style wood laminated horse bow , 40lbs pull weight and 26" draw length , bow when strung approx. 55" length . Dacron / fastflight ?

Fast flight for sure. Ive used to use b50, but won't ever go back. I use 10 strands of FF for 55 lb bow, which is way overkill but it's so thin if you use less. A lot of guys love b50 tho.

I use B 50 because I had a bad experience with FF.. But I don't know what you should use. Did you make the bow? If not ask the bowyer. Jawge

 A bow of that style needs side overlays or a central spline. Then you can use FF. If it's just a commercial wooden tipped model I would be cautious.

I have a 50#@30" one with self hard maple siyahs (Attila's archery u finish old model). It has an endless string of FF, but 10 strands of D97 would work great for 40# if you can serve it such that the nocks fit well. Brace height around 6.5". It's even taken a few dry fires and survived.. you could also wrap under the string notches with FF serving material+CA glue or sinew to help prevent breakage

Bow weight x 4 = required string strength. FF type string tends to break around 70 - 80 lbs. B50 around 35lb.
It makes no difference to the bow what material you use. As long as you don't go too thin.
