Eddie,
Good luck with the surgery, hope all goes well!  Don't be giving those surgeons so much practice!!  Might try to work a trade, got some fresh cut cherry in the freezer.  Just don't find much hardwood out
here!
Vine,
You are talking briar burl?  I am interested.  Don't smoke tobacco any more, but still interested in pipes, and making them.  Might need to start a pipe thread!

Go ahead and start a thread.... Maple burl, not Briar. I have been making traditional, and primitive pipes...lots of fun. traditional pipes are harder than I thought. Sorry for stomping on your thread Eddie.

No problem, Brian. I'm always interested in some nice, figured wood.

Rendezvous in January got to be far south! or the Frozen Toes at st. Vrain!! >:D (=). My one pole been there, done that - I have't got enough gumption to try to put it up in far below  freezing!  Besides that, I have reached the point where I am crazy, not dumb!  Had a tipi tripod break with me underneath, luckily was able to get away without ringing my bell again!   Ya'all have a good time!

Bill, the Alafia River Rendevous put on by the Florida Frontiersmen. Usually around January 21st. It is just down the road from the machine shop you visited on Hwy 555.

Sweet spoons. If you make some pots watch out, lol
I have spoon size  spalted maple, spalted sycamore, ,hickory, walnut, cherry, ash and cedar.
A little concerned about the mold though??
