Have you considered a little super glue and then a sinew backing??

Bummer. If it's any consolation I just had a yew blow up on me also.

........But......maybe George is right and it was bending too much and........it broke. Even if it wasn't bending to much based on the kink in the stave, that's where it broke......because it was bending too much.

Yep, for sure DuBois, a little super glue will fix this right up, and I'll have a nice short shooter in no time.

I've got a piece of HHB with a funny colored knot. I was get it close when the belly side of the knot lossened causing a noticeable hinge in that spot. I soaked it with super glue but really not sure I trust it and haven't finished it up yet.

Hopefully that HHB knot holds up for you  Bjrogg. Are you at full draw yet?
This knot had a small longitudinal crack on that back that I had filled with superglue. It was there since I started. I think that may have been the breaking point.

I am conservative, I usually dont bend one that far unless it is backed,, (--)

Eric I think it broke because you narrowed the grip down as if it had fades and a stiff grip, even though its working. To me it looks like it blew right at the bottom fade. Making faux fades work out on a bendy handle is a trick and a half.

Sorry for your loss but Pearls' ananolgy makes sense to me since a high percentage of the strain on a bow is above and near the handle especially one bending that far.

I think you may be right, but the photo seems like the upper limb (lower limb in the Photo) has just broke while the other limb is already broke and out of the picture. It's certainly a good challenge to try and make a bendy handle narrow handled bow. I do think the handle was way to narrow in general tho. It was still quite thick at the handle and fades tho, it was semi rigid. Thanks for all the input guys, the least I can do is learn from this.
