Beaded Mink hide tobacco pouch
« on: August 14, 2017, 06:50:32 am »
I spent the last weekend teaching French Fur Trade history at a living history event for a local historical society.  Between talking, I worked on a whole hide tobacco pouch.  The natives and the French voyageurs would carry their pipes, tobacco and flint and stel in these bags that hung over their sashes.
The mink skin was trapped and tanned by BJRogg, I traded for it at the Marshall rendezvous.  Great hide BJ.

Very nice Kyle love seeing what those furs turn into. Much more enjoyable than sending them to the fur auction or selling them to a buyer. I'm very happy with the deal we made, I've got some real nice shooting arrows from those shafts. Hopefully my buddies and I can take some venison with them.

Always a pleasure to see your latest projects, Kyle.
