I am trying to find the TV clip that had him and his cousin at the start of the race but I cannot seem to locate it. I think it was on Fox 4 out of KC, but I cannot locate it on their page. Sitting there watching tv last night and, low and behold, there is Captain Redbeard and his cousin right in front of the camera!
I was going to try to swing by the Miami, MO today, which is one of the check points, to see if I could see him, but time constraints with work meant that it just was not happening.
Pat B, not too many tug boats on the Missouri this far up. This time of year it is mainly dredges trying to keep the channel open. I think that is one reason they do it this time of year. Not much barge traffic.
Also, they schedule it on a full moon so they can navigate the river better at night which will help. I keep wanting to txt him to see how its going but I remember what happened when Pat called him and he was on the river. So I will wait a few days
