I started making bows around seven or so years ago, but just got super serious about making them and hunting with them in the last 2-3 years. In total, I have shot two deer, but unfortunately failed to harvest them. This past weekend I decided to break-in my newest bow on a hog hunt my soon-to-be brother in-law invited me on. I was reluctant due to the confidence issues because of my two failed recoveries, but my very supportive wife encouraged me to not give up and to prove myself wrong. I'm very blessed to have her and glad I listened to her as I was successful on the hunt. I got a complete pass through on the boar pictured and the arrow continued to fly and wounded a second boar bad enough that we had to track it down and put it down as well. I took the shot from 20 yards. My bow pulls just under 45 at 26in. I was using a 500 grain arrow.
