I think I could create an image hosting site for hobbyists such as ourselves.  There would have to be some cost at least to cover the database and server fees, but it would be minimal.  Off-the-cuff I'm guessing equivalent to a dollar or so per month per person on average.  Maybe limited, focused, and specific advertising would cover the costs.  I'll have to do some research, but I'm interested in doing it if there's enough interest in using it.  I may do it anyway for the experience

I know of nearlyfreespeech. other than that I dunno what shared hosting is good, I've only dabbled with VPSes. maybe namecheap...
