How do I start for building a BBO

I have had an osage slat in my closet now for several years. It measures 3/4" X 2" X 72".
I would like to put it into a bow, and know that it will need to be backed, but I don't have any idea what to do first, or what I will need.

Can anyone direct me to a step by step or give me some ideas?

I built this one and took it to marshal last year. U need to get some boo and thin it down nice and smooth to start, this is a slight d/r and it still has all the reflex. I will try and get some detailed measurements tomorrow

I usually flatten/thin the bamboo enough to lay out a pattern on it, cut it out to bow shape, and then thin it the rest of the way.  I glue it to the osage slat and use the bamboo as the pattern for shaping the slat after the glue dries.
