I watched it to Ed. I did see several bows a few of them looked like Selfbows in the pre season try out show. I think they had 1000? enter can't remember for sure. I don't know if Marc's guy made it to final players. I thought it looked like that father son team where shooting selfbows in pre season show but looked like he was carrying a fg recurve last night. Should be interesting show.

I just watched it over again Ed. I think the father and son team are using selfbows. I think there must be more teams than they showed this episode. I only remember them showing 4 teams but I believe there where seven to start. Should be entertaining  (-P

Now you can get an idea why yew is expensive. That's yew country they're crashing through. Take a chainsaw, axe and three or four wedges in and out and then probably a trip in and out per stave.

The bow I made for Richard is not ERC, it's a Yew bow.  I watched the first episode but didn't see him on there

I've seen several guys take bows on that show but I don't remember if anyone actually killed anything with them.  I thought the one guy might have got a pig but I can't remember for sure.  I do remember the one guy was to weak to string his bow up after a lack of food.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Gonna miss Brook and Dave. Thought they were going to win it, they did some pretty neat stuff. Kinda makes you realize how much we take eating for granted. Still surprises me no one seems to really seriously hunt on this show.

I thought they had it too. I wonder if they would have lasted if they hadn't used all that energy building the cabin. When you realise that it took the hikers around 8-10 days to go ten miles you can get an idea of how thick the brush is. Sometimes it's impossible to get off the beach. I keep wondering why they're not digging clams and there has to be mussels.

I hear what your saying DC. Looks like it's not very friendly for hiking. But it seems like if you could setup on one of those trails something would walk by. I do like the show really was routing for Brook and Dave, they invested a lot into their  stay. I don't think Brook had a lot of extra calories on board before she started and she was a heck of a worker. They made a great team.

Haven't seen the ending yet but I have to say the Canadians are embarrassing.

Seems it takes too much energy to hunt with a bow.I suspect animals per sq. mile are'nt that high for success.Easier to catch slower moving things to eat.Too many other neccessaties to take care of at the camp too.
We really thought the couple would win it too.Glad I did'nt make any wagers on the outcome.
