You did a very nice job on that mulberry bow, windwalker. I love mulberry but haven't built a bow from it in years.

Hey thanks everyone, finally made it back. I'm gad this one worked out. I gave it to my nephew and when I left, he was down in the back yard shooting at stuffed animals and cardboard boxes. I made him three arrows to go wth it. Thanks again for the kind words there are many times I doubt myself

Gilsgils & Shofu, the tips are just black acrylic auto body paint. I found a brand new 3oz tube of it on the side of the road while walking so that's it for that. Shofu the contrast is many layers of a stain while the belly is left natural except the tips and right near the handle. Near the handle stain and sand it off letting more open grain keep the stain. I have three jars of iron acitate I made years ago for guitars and I used one of them On this mulberry;it's red wine vinegar + raw iron I pulled out of the ground prospecting maybe five years ago, Anyway the red wine is nice on a lot of woods compared to just distilled white. It usually leaves a warm brown, red hue. Have a good one

Job well done :)
That bow has some style. I will have to try the red wine vinegar. I have only used distilled white and apple cider.

Hey Johnny,
Thanks for the explanation on the stain and process - I will be adding to the list of things to try! Love the 'natural' stains
