ABO Thebes
« on: May 31, 2017, 06:09:14 pm »
Pc of novaculite that thought he wanted to be a Thebes, I removed a few thinning flakes and let him go. I had trouble with my symmetry on this one, just seemed to chase from one notch to the other, I am used to doing narrow entry punch notching and this abo notching is  killing me. Notching tools seem huge, All in all pretty happy with this one, Thanks again for lookin  and feel free to critique. Bob :KN -C-

Bob, the point looks great. You are doing really well with the abo stuff. The notching is also one of my difficulties. If you find the technique for thin and narrow notching let me know...:-)

Looks real good to me!  Hope I get something that good in my first 100(0) tries at knapping!

Not bad at all. You may need to just make different shaped punches if you are looking for a different look.

This video I made a while back has techniques for narrower style notching. May be helpful.
