Apart from the crouching stance, the technique and motion of shooting seem rather reminiscent of the way English warbows are shot by modern practitioners. The modified Mediterranean draw with the string in the second groove of the index finger is also similar to a common practice among the Hadza of Tanzania. (The same form of draw is also mentioned by a medieval French manual).
This style of shooting is probably ancestral to all others. Effective and elegantly simple.

There's something interesting about the wide shallow handles, loose grip, and back tension follow through..
