Filip, the tips at the recurve(apex of the curve)have to be thicker but it can taper to the tips,3/8" or less at the string groove. Ideally you want them just thick enough so they don't bend at full draw. It seems to me 1/2" thick but you can be narrowed quite a bit. Thick and narrow is stronger and lighter than thin and wide.

So I could make usual taper from fades to the tips with tips being before recurving about 1/2" thick and when I finish tillering to go for narrowing them?

Would you say a bit over 1" wide at the tips for beginning is enough?
