. . . glad you are here . . .

To make a long story short -

————————

“. . . I think I can be characterized as a Feral Bushman :

the ability to adapt to Anthropocene Era . . . “

————————

To wit :

. . . back in 1970 I built a Yahi bow from Southern Oregon Yew . . .

it was a working bow & I killed my share of small game with it . . .

(pictured above).

I still have it & it still is operational.

————————

I have returned to my roots at long last (I am 68 years of age) . . .

I found a gorgeous balk of Red Elm that I intend to build a Pit River bow about 40 pounds in weight .

regards,

Scyth

Welcome aboard! We all eagerly await seeing your work and helping you more than you asked for ;) No, but really, we live to live vicariously through other peoples builds, no mater how many of our own we have going.

Welcome to PA, Scyth. 68 years old is a perfect age as far as I'm concerned.  ;)  Looking forward to seeing more of your work.   :OK

Welcome aboard!  As a newbie, I got a couple more years on you, that's all!  Have fun!  These guys have probably forgotten more than I am going to learn about bow making, etc.

Thanks very much for your welcome !

Question :
I put a post entitled “. . . any practitioners of Mongolian release . . .”
in the “Main Discussion Area/Bows” where does the subject of primitive “Form” (in the respects) located ? ?

Scyth, try putting it in the Horn Bow section. Folks there would be more familiar with the term there.
