Bow number 2 Maple BB
« on: March 24, 2017, 12:25:42 pm »
Well I was taking a break from tillering a red oak BB that was taking a lot of effort and tossed this one on the tree. Unfortunately it pulled straight to full draw at only 32 lbs on the first pull. A little too aggressive with the profile on the bandsaw sadly. Was fun to shoot though. Maple 1x2 72" pyramid bow. 32@28".

perfect for working on form, imo. Congrats!

Cut it down and reprofile if you want more weight, around 5# an inch from each limb

Whiskeyjet, have you checked this out https://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,35312.msg464947.html#msg464947

As a matter of fact, yeah that was one of my key references when I decided to make a pyramid bow. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the kind words.  I've got a lot to learn still for sure. Especially need to slow down.

Nice! That pyramid build you linked was super helpful on my last board bow build.

Took 2 inches off each end now it's 68" and pulls 42@28. Thanks Bubby!
